PRIVATE STRUCTURE (Only lease). La Villa nell'Isola Verde (The Villa on the Green Island) is located on a hilltop completely surrounded by six hectares of olive trees, fruit trees and herbs, with a wonderful view of the castle town of Lari, a medieval strategic point on the road between Pisa and Volterra. Hints as to the origin of the villa can be found in history books: in 1000AD this land was the herbal and aromatic garden for the nearby stately home of the Upezzinghi, an important family of Pisan feudal nobility, who were long term rivals of the Medici family. La Villa nell'Isola Verde, which covers an area of about 315 sq m, has been recently renovated, blending typical Tuscan style with internal nordic elements and ethnic touches from Asia and Africa, reflecting the deep bond of the owners with Tuscany and their experiences and roots in other parts of the world. The villa is located on the Pisan Hills Wine Route and the local area is famous for cherries, the annual cherry festival and traditional pasta. The isolated tranquility of this property is ideal for a relaxing holiday in the picturesque Tuscan countryside enjoying the views, nearby hot springs and waterfalls or activities such as biking, horse riding or walking. It is also ideal for those wishing to visit the beautiful attractions of the region; as this is an excellent starting point for art lovers visiting cities such as Pisa, Lucca and Florence or taking at it easy at the seaside in beach areas such as Castiglioncello, San Vicenzo and Baratti. The beautiful, tranquil location of the villa is in close connection with the local nature and the villa has in the past been a home for spiritual healing. The downstairs has a dedicated indoor space for Yoga practice and there are many places to pause for quiet contemplation and reflection.
Interior:
The villa is spread over two floors. GROUND FLOOR - Spacious living room with dining area and kitchen; living room with fireplace and tv; bathroom with hydro-massage shower and washing machine connected to a double bedroom; yoga room. Each room on the ground floor has direct access to the garden. FIRST FLOOR – Double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with tub; four double bedrooms; three bathrooms (one with shower, one with hydro-massage tub, one with hydro-massage shower); panoramic terrace.
Park:
The Villa is surrounded by 6 hectares of partly fenced, well-maintained land. From the Villa, given the hilly position, you can enjoy the ever-changing views over the beautiful town of Lari, with its characteristic Castello dei Vicari, with the Appenine mountains in the background behind. The gardens around the pool are a mix of olive and fig trees, lawn and flowers. The property is provided with a video surveillance system and with a remote-controlled entrance gate. Beyond the entrance gate there is a private driveway leading to the parking area, located conveniently prior to the side of the villa and close to the entrance, where you will be greeted by an outdoor dining area with a stone table and armchairs. There are other tables and chairs placed in areas outside the house which can be moved as you wish. Two hammocks are placed among the trees to stay cool during those hot Tuscan days. There is a level garden adorned with bushes of Mediterranean herbs and fruit trees around the house. It is a short walk down the hill into the valley towards Lari to enjoy and discovering the ever-changing nature whilst looking out for asparagus, garlic, laurel and other herbs and nut trees. The land includes a natural well used for the gardens and the owners use photovoltaic and thermal energy for power and to heat water for the house.
Swimming Pool:
The swimming pool is located laterally and in a raised position with respect to the villa, nestled within the trees while overlooking the valley. Measuring 10 x 5 m with the depth varying from 1.20 to 1.50 m, it has chlorine purification, Roman steps for access to the water, an electric opening/closing cover and a cold-water shower. The solarium area is equipped with sunbeds. The pool is available all year around.
