Summary: We checked in with a very helpful receptionist - having walked from our car drop off place we were very hot and she gave us water. She also sent up an ice bucket and glasses for our celebration champagne. The room was lovely - small but on a corner and very nice. However- there were some issues. It was Sunday and the restaurant was shut and there was no room service. The “pantry” is a vending machine with different snacks to those on the menu and microwave food - so not really a 4/5* option. We booked into the spa for the half hour - however having had an immediate reply suggesting a different time there was no further response & fortunately we called before turning up as it wasn’t reserved. We did manage to get booked in an hour later - but the hot tub was cold and grimy and the other facilities ok. Overall the room was nice and the staff were nice but not being able to get decent food at a quality hotel was a bit of a surprise and the spa was definitely among the worst we’ve been to. I’d stay again as a quick stop over but not as a luxury break.
