The villa is a 300-year-old former farmhouse, 6 miles north of Volterra and 9 miles from San Gimignano. The extremely imaginative restoration, designed by an award-winning Australian architect, has created a luxurious, airy and light villa with very generous proportions. With a modern edge, but using traditional materials for floors and ceilings, the property offers sumptuous living with all modern facilities. The gardens are beautifully manicured with lawns and shrubs and the surrounding countryside is planted with fruit trees, olive groves and wheat fields. There is a large swimming pool (5x12m), luxury outdoor hot tub and a professional tennis court and from the house and gardens one has stunning views over the Tuscan rolling landscape and to the stunning hill town of Volterra itself. Pisa is just a 45 minute drive away and the seaside can be reached within an hour. Florence, Siena and Lucca are all around an hour away. The Villa is ideally located for lazy summer days interspersed with half day and full day trips to some of Tuscany's finest towns. The Villa has WiFi.
