Podere la Lama stands in the countryside that has kept its original character, approx. 3.4 km from the village of Sassetta. This large country house is about 200 years old and built of solid stone; it has been painstakingly and carefully restored by the owners. During the renovation they were careful to keep the character of this former old farmhouse. The rooms inside are beautifully and tastefully furnished, so that they conform to higher demands. There is also a smaller flat with one bedroom which has a separate stairway. This concept offers 2 families the chance to travel together but also the desired privacy.
In addition, it is possible to hire a separate double room. This is a room on the ground floor next to the owners flat, with a bathroom and a separate entrance.
A large swimming pool/pond of 600m² (approx. 30m diameter) was built in 2005: a natural idyll bedded in the countryside. This organic pool is not just an idyll, it can also be used for swimming and the children will have great fun in it.
And in the high season when thousands crowd together on the beach, the guests of Podere la Lama can lay in the cool water, watch the flora and fauna and enjoy the DOLCE FAR NIENTE!
Both flats have a large, cosy living room with a fire-place, seating and dining area. Each flat has its own seating area in the garden with barbecue. There are old Holm oaks for shade. Apart from this, there are many possibilities for making oneself comfortable outside: (for example in the swimming pond, the so-called organic-pool with 30m diameter) Garden furniture, sun beds, barbecue, and sun umbrellas are plentiful. Here is a very individual and personal atmosphere. The sauna can also be used. Children and dogs are welcome: with children in mind, there is plenty of room to play on the spacious grounds, with swing and kiddies playhouse. There is a washing machine for communal use. Also an old bread baking furnace right next to the house is still working and can be used by the guests. One parking space per flat.
The large flat can be reached by an outside stairway on the northern side of the house. It has 80m² and room for 4-7 people: 2 bedrooms each with 2 beds, a gallery, from which one of the bedrooms can be reached by a wooden stairway, 2 beds. The children will of course love it up there. An extra bed can be put in the roomy living room. The bedrooms are fitted out with comfortable beds (90x200cm) and the bathroom with a big bath. The practically equipped kitchen has cooking utensils and crockery, as well as herbs, spices, food supplies etc.
There is a seating area in the garden just outside, with a view of Sassetta and the hills surrounded by dense woods.
Powercosts 12 € per person and week. Laundry (bedding, towels, tea towels) 15 € p.p. for 14 days if required.
