In summer the area offers good hiking opportunities. Try your fishing luck in one of the many mountain lakes with good trout stock. There is also the possibility to pick mushrooms and berries in autumn. A short drive from the cabin is the Hardangerfjord and the village of Norheimsund with stores, restaurants and attractions such as Steinsdalsfossen and Hardanger Museumwerft. Good fishing in the fjord and beautiful beaches, e.g. sandy beach at Øystese, Gullviskvatnet and Vikøyevjo. Take day trips along the fjord on the National Tourist Route Hardanger or take the ferry to Jondal with Folgefonna Sommerski Center. The area offers the beautiful nature of Western Norway, at the same time you are only an hour away from Bergen with shopping opportunities. Bergen also offers attractions such as the aquarium, the cable car, the famous Bryggen, Bergen Fortress and Troldhaugen. The area is also perfect in winter, with good cross-country ski trails and Active Ski Center with ski lift nearby. Short drive to the ski area Furedalen and Eikedalen. Steep path up to the house, good tires and good shoes are recommended. Bed linen and firewood must be brought.
