The terrace is conveniently designed to enjoy the outdoors so much from the porch or on the barbecue area with a large table which accommodates several guests.
Inside, the lounge has a fireplace providing a cozy atmosphere for the cooler nights. It has a large kitchen with the basics and then the master bedroom. The house also sleeps two more in the attic that is on the living room with a mattress on the wooden floor. The attic is accessed by a spiral staircase.
As the house is at the bottom of the ravine, the final track to the house (about 1km) is very steep. The car is parked at the end of this neighbor road and need to walk about 100 meters to the house.
Next to the house runs the famous trail PR GC-01 which connects Cruz de Tejeda with the picturesque village of Teror at just 6.5 kms away from the house (9kms, about 15-minutes-drive). This is one of the Caminos Reales on the island of Gran Canaria that used to communicate villages before the circulation of the car today offering interesting routes for walkers and nature lovers. This along with 7 other routes of great natural value and 80% of its territory being catalogued as Protected Natural Area, have led to the Municipality of Valleseco to specialize and pamper carefully activities like hiking and, taking into account the lack of circular routes given the terrain, offer a good taxi service picking-up at home and taking to the starting points of the routes and collecting people at the end of them.
In the small neighborhood of Madrelagua, which is reached with a short walk, there are two grocery stores where you can buy fruits and vegetables of the area as well as bread and basic products. For more choice, in the village of Valleseco at just 2kms away there is a Spar supermarket and post office, banks, cafes, pool and public library with Internet access and a convenient Tourist Office.
The local custom of eating out in the countryside makes it easy to find good restaurants with reasonable prices specialized in grilled meat and typical Canarian dishes, with the closest ones at 2kms in the neighboring district of Lanzarote or nearby too, already in the way to the coast, it is the famous Balcon de Zamora restaurant next to a beautiful observation deck.
The house has an excellent position to explore the north of the island and its towns and is also good to enjoy their beaches with local atmosphere at 30-min-drive like San Felipe, Bañaderos and El Puertillo with its natural pools in the rocks.
