The area also offers a number of interesting towns with castles and museums that make this region unique: Lucca (24 km) with its still well preserved city walls and the museum of the great composer Puccini, Barga (33 km) one of the most beautiful hamlets in Italy and Castelnuovo di Garfagnana (37 km) with the castle Rocca Aroistesca and the fortress Mont 'Alfonso with a magnificent panoramic view of the green hills of the surrounding area.
